March 26, 2026 The Dockyard in Berlin has been successfully certified with the LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum awards. HOINKA GmbH is supporting the project as an auditor within the scope of the certifications.
The platinum awards of the LEED and WELL systems confirm outstanding performance in the areas of energy efficiency, resource conservation, CO2 reduction, indoorairquality and user health. The wood-hybrid construction method and the use of “green” steel reduce the consumption of resources and improve the ecological footprint. The innovative energy concept is based, among other things, on one of the largest Germany’s largest ice storage facility with around 1.5 million liters storage volume. In combination with geothermal energy, solar energy and ambient air the system enables a particularly efficient heating and cooling supply and supports the targeted climate-neutral operation in accordance with LEED Zero Carbon.
In addition to the now achieved LEED Platinum and WELL Platinum certification and the WiredScore Platinum award that has also already been received award, the project will also receive LEED Zero Carbon and the EU taxonomy conformity aimed at. The HOINKA GmbH accompanies the Dockyard as an auditor in the certification processes. Our Building Material Scout project tool is also used to document the building products used and their sustainability properties.
With its sustainable construction, innovative energy technology and high quality of stay, the Dockyard sets new standards for sustainable office buildings and creates a modern working environment in the sense of a “work-life happiness approach”.
