Guiding Principles Compliance Certification
What is GPC?
The Guiding Principles Compliance (GPC) verification program is the first third-party assessment program designed specifically for federal agencies to assess compliance with the federal Guiding Principles determined by the Implementing Instructions for Executive Order 13834 Efficient Federal Operations for sustainable buildings. The certification programs and materials are constantly kept up to date with the most recent Executive Order to provide a reliable manual for the compliance process and make federally owned, leased or operated buildings more sustainable. This also applies for international projects, such as buildings on American Air Bases and the respective housing areas.
Who benefits from a GPC Certification?
- Building stakeholders: GBI’s education programs, tools, standards and assessments support building owners, sustainability consultants, designers, developers, builders, contractors, government agencies, building operators, occupants, tenants, product and service providers and communities that strive to improve the built environment through the application of sustainability, health and resilience best practices.
- Global organizations, that collaborate to achieve sustainability, health and resilience goals based on GBI’s objectives and principles.
