Energy simulation according to ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 for LEED projects
We carry out the energy simulation for you in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2010 Appendix G for LEED projects.
With over 30 successfully submitted simulations, we are one of the most experienced providers on the German market. Contact us
LEED v4 – Optimize Energy Performance – Credit 2 (EA Cr 2) Option 1: Whole Building Energy Simulation (1-18 points, 1-16 points schools, 1-20 points healthcare)
- The energy simulation in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2010 is a dynamic energy simulation of the entire building.
The systems and energy consumption for heating, ventilation, cooling, lighting and useful electricity are mapped using a virtual model based on realistic weather data (test reference year). - The building depicted in the model (proposed building) is dynamically simulated over the course of a year.
The result is the energy consumption and the associated energy costs and CO2 emissions of the building for a typical reference year. - The minimum requirements are verified in the LEED certification by comparison with a reference building (baseline building).
- Up to 20 LEED points are awarded depending on how far the actual energy costs fall short of the minimum requirements determined.
- The Energy Model thus contributes up to 33% to successful LEED Gold certification.
The simulations are carried out in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1.
This standard regulates the energy efficiency of buildings in the USA.
We provide the following services for our clients to achieve points in the LEED EA Credit Optimize Energy Performance:
- Simple Box Energy Modeling: Preliminary estimation using simplified simulation for preliminary estimation in the context of the Credits IP Cr 1 Integrative Process (Optional)
- Comparison of the planning status with the requirements according to ASHRAE 90.1 2010 Appendix G.
- Performance of the simulation in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 2010 (reference building / actual building).
This is a dynamic energy simulation of the entire building. - After an initial design has been carried out, recommendations are made to improve the result in terms of achievable LEED points.
- Creation of a simulation report with presentation of results in English.
- Filling out the LEED online template for submission to the USGBC and uploading the necessary documents for the design review.
- Responding to the LEED certification body’s queries and possible revisions required as a result of the certification body’s comments following the LEED Design Review.
