10.02.2020 The WELL certification has an increasing demand in Germany and Europe. The standard with the building places a strong focus on the health and comfort of all building users.
The WELL Building Standard® was published in 2014 by the International WELL Building Institute pbc (IWBI). 10 categories, so-called concepts, are considered (WELL v2):
Konzept 1: Air
Konzept 2: Water
Konzept 3: Nourishment
Konzept 4: Light
Konzept 5: Movement
Konzept 6: Thermal Comfort
Konzept 7: Sound
Konzept 8: Materials
Konzept 9: Mind
Konzept 10: Community
Each concept includes a variety of criteria that take into account certain aspects of physical and mental health, comfort and the community of users. Minimum requirements must be met for an award, as well as a certain number of optimizations. A project can receive an award in
WELL Bronze: 40 points (only for Core & Shell)
WELL Silver: 50 points
WELL Gold: 60 points
WELL Platinum: 80 points
for every project and building type (New and Existing Buildings, Interiors, Core and Shell).
