20.01.2023 An amendment to the Building Energy Act came into force on January 1, 2023. A primary energy shortfall of 45% must now be demonstrated for new construction projects.
Since November 01, 2020, the Building Energy Act. It contains requirements for the energy quality of buildings, the creation and use of energy performance certificates and the use of renewable energies in buildings. With the amendment from January 1 of this year, the permissible annual primary energy requirement for new residential and non-residential buildings was reduced from 75% to 55%. This corresponds to the KfW’s EH55 standard and is valid from the beginning of the year for all building applications, applications for approval or building notifications. In the future, the new construction requirements in the Building Energy Act are to be aligned with the EH40 standard by 2025.
