September 12, 2025 Frankfurt’s first timber-hybrid high-rise building has now been officially awarded DGNB Gold! Timber Pioneer has also received DGNB recognition for good design and building culture quality!
With the timber hybrid construction method, 57% weight and 80% CO2 could be saved in this project compared to a conventional solid construction.
Thanks to the prefabricated composite elements, the building was also erected in a record time of 15 weeks.
The office building is equipped with intelligent building technology that saves energy and resources in daily operation and was planned according to the cradle-to-cradle principle: for example, the wood in the construction or the aluminum in the curtain wall can be reused or recycled.
The intensive greening in the inner courtyard improves the urban microclimate and counteracts heat islands in summer.
An impressive project for which DGNB Gold certification was achieved as part of the DGNB New Build certification. Our DGNB auditor Ramona Veronika Schuster supported the project from planning to completion with her expertise. The building products and materials used were documented using our Building Material Scott project tool to simplify the verification process.
