October 24, 2025 As part of the redesign of Monheim’s city center, HOINKA GmbH is accompanying the certification of two new buildings as a DGNB auditor.
The ground-breaking ceremony on September 2 marked the start of the final construction phase of the major Monheim Mitte project – and with it the construction of buildings 1 to 3. House 1 and House 3 are being built in timber hybrid construction and will be realized in accordance with the DGNB Gold standard.
The first floors of the two buildings will provide space for new stores, while the upper floors will create new workspace with a total of 7,500 square meters of modern, energy-efficient office space.
The focus is also on sustainability outside: the inner courtyards and roof gardens are intensively greened and create pleasant places to spend time with numerous planting areas and climate stone coverings. Geothermal energy, air heat pumps and photovoltaic systems on the roofs ensure a sustainable energy supply.
